SSC CHSL 2025 FRTA Declared: What to Do Next for Identity Verification and Sliding

SSC declared the CHSL 2025 FRTA on 17.08.2026, provisionally recommending 3,515 candidates against 3,522 vacancies; here's what shortlisted candidates must do next for identity verification, the corrigendum, and the mandatory sliding process.

SSC CHSL 2025 FRTA Declared: Here's What It Means for You

If you appeared for the Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination (CHSL) 2025 and have been waiting to know which post and department you might be allocated to, the wait is partly over. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has declared the First Round of Tentative Allocation (FRTA) for CHSL 2025 on 17.08.2026.

Of the 13,395 Tier-II candidates who submitted their post preferences, 3,515 candidates have been provisionally recommended for Identification Verification against 3,522 reported vacancies. This is an important milestone in the post-result stage of CHSL 2025, and if your name features in this list, there are several things you need to act on immediately — including a compulsory sliding process that many candidates could easily overlook. Let's break down what the FRTA means, what has changed since its release, and the exact steps you should take now.

What Is the First Round of Tentative Allocation (FRTA)?

The FRTA is essentially a preliminary, non-final list that indicates which department or post a candidate is likely to be allocated based on their Tier-II merit, post preferences, category and eligibility, qualification in the Computer Knowledge Test and Skill/Typing Test, and vacancy availability reported by user departments.

It is important to understand that this allocation is tentative, not final. That means:

  • Your allocation can still change based on verification outcomes and the sliding process.

  • It is subject to correction through official corrigenda.

  • Final allocation depends on successful completion of subsequent steps like identity verification, the sliding process, and document checks.

So, if you find your name in the FRTA, treat it as a positive signal, but not the finish line. There is still work to do.

Corrigendum to FRTA: Why You Must Recheck Your Status

Just two days after the FRTA was declared, SSC issued a Corrigendum to the FRTA dated 17.08.2026, released on 19.08.2026. Corrigenda are official corrections issued when errors or updates are identified in the original list, and they can affect roll numbers, allocated posts, or category details.

This is precisely why candidates should never rely solely on the original FRTA. Even if you checked your allocation on the day it was released, you need to cross-check your details again against the corrigendum to ensure nothing has changed for you. Missing a corrigendum update could mean you show up prepared for the wrong process or miss a deadline entirely.

What to Do Right Now

  • Visit the official SSC website (ssc.gov.in) and locate the CHSL 2025 FRTA section.

  • Download both the original FRTA and the corrigendum dated 19.08.2026.

  • Search your roll number in both documents carefully.

  • Note down your allocated post/department status as per the latest corrigendum.

Identity Verification (IV): The Next Critical Step

If your name appears in the FRTA, the next major action point is Identity Verification (IV). On 18.08.2026, SSC issued two separate notices relevant to CHSL 2025 candidates: an Important Notice, and a dedicated notice titled "Identity Verification (IV) for the candidates shortlisted in FRTA of Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination (CHSLE), 2025." Candidates should check both notices on the SSC notice board, as the dedicated IV notice lays out the process and requirements while the Important Notice may carry additional instructions relevant to the same cycle.

Identity verification is a routine but essential part of the selection process. It exists to confirm that the candidate who appeared for the exam and the candidate being allocated a post are one and the same, and that all submitted documents and details are authentic.

Why You Shouldn't Delay This Step

Skipping or delaying identity verification can jeopardize your allocation, regardless of how well you performed in the exam. Since this stage typically comes with a specific window or schedule, candidates should:

  • Read the IV notice carefully to understand the exact process (online or in-person, as specified by SSC).

  • Keep all original documents (educational certificates, category certificates, identity proof, photographs) ready and organized.

  • Complete the process within the timeline mentioned in the notice, since post-result stages in SSC recruitment tend to move quickly.

The Sliding Process: A Compulsory Step You Cannot Skip

Alongside identity verification, candidates included in the FRTA must also complete a mandatory sliding process — and this is where many candidates risk losing out simply by not knowing it exists.

Here's how it works:

  • Candidates must select their venue, date, and slot for the sliding process between 20 and 22 August 2026.

  • The physical sliding process itself will then be conducted from 1 to 3 September 2026.

  • Physical attendance in the sliding process is compulsory for a candidate to be considered in the final result — skipping it can cost you your allocation even if you clear identity verification.

In short, checking the corrigendum and completing IV is not the end of the road. You must also log in during the 20-22 August window to book your slot, and then physically attend the sliding process during the first week of September. Treat both steps as equally non-negotiable.

A Quick Note for MTS and Havaldar Aspirants Too

While this update is centered on CHSL 2025, it's worth noting that SSC has been active across multiple examinations recently. On 20.08.2026, SSC also released an important notice on the schedule of PET/PST (Physical Efficiency Test/Physical Standard Test) for the MTS (Non-Technical) and Havaldar Examination 2025.

If you or someone you know is tracking the MTS or Havaldar recruitment cycle, it's a good idea to check the official SSC notice board for this schedule as well, since physical test stages also come with strict timelines.

Staying on Top of Post-Result Stages

The period after results are declared can be just as important as the exam itself. Between tentative allocations, corrigenda, identity verification, the sliding process, and document checks, there are multiple checkpoints where a small oversight, like missing a corrigendum or a slot-selection deadline, can cause unnecessary stress.

Here's a simple checklist to stay on track during this phase:

  • Regularly visit the official SSC website (ssc.gov.in) for updates specific to CHSL 2025.

  • Bookmark or note down every notice date so you don't miss corrigenda or schedule changes.

  • Select your sliding process venue, date, and slot between 20 and 22 August 2026.

  • Mark 1-3 September 2026 for the compulsory physical sliding process.

  • Keep your documents ready well before verification deadlines.

  • For any doubts or issues, candidates can reach out directly to SSC's helpdesk at helpdesk-ssc@ssc.nic.in.

Final Word

The FRTA is a significant step forward for CHSL 2025 candidates, but it comes with responsibilities, not just celebration. With 3,515 candidates provisionally recommended against 3,522 vacancies, competition and scrutiny at this stage are real, and candidates need to stay alert and proactive over the next few days. Between checking the corrigendum, completing identity verification, and selecting and attending your sliding process slot, there is a clear sequence of actions to follow — miss any one of them, and your provisional allocation could be at risk.

If you're among those shortlisted, don't wait until the last moment. Verify your details, select your sliding slot between 20-22 August, prepare your documents for both IV and the physical sliding process on 1-3 September, and reach out to SSC's helpdesk if anything is unclear. Staying organized now will make the difference between a smooth final allocation and unnecessary last-minute scrambling.
