This recruitment cycle covers three post categories:

For lakhs of diploma and degree holders in engineering who dream of a career in the Railways, this notification is exactly the kind of concrete, time-bound opportunity worth acting on immediately. The online application window is open from 14 August 2026 to 13 September 2026 (11:59 p.m.). Let's break down what this recruitment drive means for you and what steps you need to take next.
Why RRB JE Recruitment Matters
Indian Railways is one of the largest employers in the country, and the Junior Engineer post is one of its most sought-after technical roles. It offers:
Job security and a structured government pay scale — JE posts are placed at Level-6 of the 7th CPC, with an initial basic pay of ₹35,400 per month
Opportunities to work across different railway zones and departments
A clear promotion path into senior engineering and managerial roles
Recognition as one of the most competitive and prestigious technical exams in India
With 4,029 vacancies now confirmed under CEN 04/2026 across JE, DMS, and CMA posts, this is one of the larger recruitment cycles in recent years, which means more seats and a genuine chance for well-prepared candidates to get in.
What Does the CEN 04/2026 Notification Cover?
The official notification released by RRB is detailed, and it lays out everything a candidate needs before applying. Broadly, it covers:
Eligibility criteria, including the specific educational qualifications required for the JE, DMS, and CMA posts
Application fees, which vary depending on the candidate's category
Important dates and instructions, including the application window of 14 August to 13 September 2026
Selection process, which includes CBT 1, CBT 2, Document Verification (DV), and a Medical Examination (ME)
Since RRB recruitment notifications tend to be lengthy and technical, it's important to go through the full official notice carefully rather than relying on second-hand summaries, especially when it comes to eligibility and fee details specific to your category.
