About this role
Marketing executives for a university are essential architects of its reputation, student recruitment pipeline, and global academic standing. Operating within an increasingly competitive higher education market, they craft strategic communication campaigns that highlight specialized degree programs, groundbreaking research, and campus culture to attract prospective domestic and international students. Beyond managing digital marketing, social media channels, and advertising initiatives, these professionals analyze enrollment data and applicant behavior to refine outreach strategies. By collaborating closely with faculty, admissions teams, and alumni networks, they ensure the university's core values and achievements are compellingly translated into long-term institutional growth and brand loyalty.
What you will do
Educational Foundation: A bachelor’s degree (BBA, BA, or BSc) in Marketing, Mass Communication, Journalism, Business Administration, or a related field is the standard baseline. For higher-tier universities or senior executive tracks, a postgraduate qualification like an MBA in Marketing or Higher Education Management is frequently preferred.
Industry Experience: 1 to 4 years of hands-on marketing experience. Prior background within the education sector—such as working in school/university admissions, ed-tech, or educational publishing—is a distinct advantage because it requires an understanding of student decision cycles, academic program structures, and institutional branding.
Digital & Technical Competencies: Practical fluency in managing performance marketing campaigns (Google Ads, Meta/LinkedIn ads), search engine optimization (SEO), and customer relationship management (CRM) tools or email marketing platforms (like Mailchimp or HubSpot). Familiarity with Google Analytics to track admission inquiry funnels and web traffic is crucial.
Core Skill Set: Strong copywriting and editing skills for crafting brochures, landing pages, and campaign scripts, alongside strong interpersonal abilities for coordinating with university faculty, public relations teams, and student bodies during campus events.
What we are looking for
Student Recruitment & Lead Generation: Designing and executing multi-channel enrollment campaigns (digital ads, social media, email marketing, and search engine optimization) designed to attract prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Content Creation & Collateral Development: Crafting compelling copywriting and marketing assets—such as program brochures, landing pages, email sequences, video scripts, and digital newsletters—that highlight specialized degrees, faculty achievements, and campus culture.
Event Management & Outreach: Planning and executing recruitment events, including university open houses, virtual webinars, high school career fairs, and counselor meet-and-greets to engage prospective students and parents directly.
Data Tracking & Funnel Optimization: Monitoring enrollment metrics, analyzing inquiry-to-admission conversion rates, and tracking digital campaign performance using analytics tools to refine outreach strategies and maximize return on marketing investment.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partnering closely with admissions teams, academic departments, faculty members, and alumni networks to ensure that messaging accurately reflects the university's academic offerings, values, and career outcomes.
Brand Reputation Management: Safeguarding and enhancing the university's public image across digital platforms, addressing public relations needs, and promoting student success stories to build long-term institutional equity.
